Just because ...

The sun is shining ...

... and this Virginia creeper looks so pretty (even though it has absolutely no business climbing up the bamboo)

... and I love the pattern of the sunlight on the lawn

... and the fact that the containers are still full of colour

... and flowers and foliage

... and the way the terracotta pots glow in the afternoon sun.
But really, who needs an excuse?

Dappled sunshine always looks so beautiful playing across the garden. I love your first shot of the fuchsia next to the bold leaves, and the little maidenhair fern fronds below. The round urn looks great with all of the long foliage, too. Your pot area next to the window looks fun and easy to rearrange on a whim for different contrast.

What a wonderful, happy post, Victoria. Days like this need no excuse, that's for sure. Lots of delightful colour in the garden. May it continue for some weeks to come!

It is even more satisfying that the sun is shining in October. Your garden is looking very colourful.

It all looks lush! (in both the traditional sense and Gavin and Stacey parlance)

Over the last year or so I feel as though I have got to know your garden without a single visit. I suppose all our gardens become virtual gardens when blogging, but yours always stands out. I certainly agree about the way the lowering sunlight effects how we look at our gardens at this time of year, making the most of every beam of light before the winter sets in – wonderful.

Your photos and landscaping are beautiful, you have a real talent. I just posted photos from our walk in the woods - I love the dappled sun lite, you captured it perfectly. I enjoyed my visit today!

Sunlight across the garden at this time of year is just so special isn't it? Some of these shots have a feeling of Dixter about them.

Your Acers look fabulous with such glorious autumnal colours; in fact your last pic has become my screensaver. The flowers on your variegated Fatshedera lizei are marvellous – I’m jealous as I only have the plain green version.

Thank you for including me in your weekend article – much appreciated. One of these days, or should I summers you must (if you get the time) come and visit my garden and have afternoon tea amongst the Palms...

Hi Victoria – I’ve had enough of the white stuff too, it’s now turned into frozen slippery stuff instead here! Whatever you do, have an excellent Christmas and may your exotics bloom to perfection in 2011...
